China's rapid developing in medical device industry has drawn the attention of the world, although gaps still exist between China and developed countries. China’s latest medical products are at the forefront of the international medical device industry. In the next few years, China will surpass Japan and become the world’s second largest medical device market. The total output value of Chinese medical device has achieved 100 billion yuan in 2010, accounting for 5% of the world’s medical device industry, and by 2050, it is expected to reach 25%.
With the improved R& D capability of domestic companies, and the shift of the market focus from high tech field to mass market, the product competitiveness of domestic products is gradually increasing, providing valuable opportunities for domestic manufacturers to develop. It is foreseeable that there is huge development potential in the Chinese medical device industry.
